We are currently seeking a qualified, dynamic and knowledgeable freelance trainer to join our team in Christchurch, Dorset.

You must be a qualified First Aid trainer with experience in teaching Paediatric First Aid.

You must have excellent English and be able to teach adult students from many backgrounds.

You must be able to act professionally at all time but also have a sense of fun.

Most courses are run on Saturdays, so you must be free to work regularly at weekends.

Essential Criteria

A current FAW certificate, a First Aid Instructors qualification and a Level 3 qualification in Education & Training or equivalent.

Knowledge of Paediatric First Aid and a minimum of 2 years previous training experience.

Your own Laptop and manikins.

Professional indemnity insurance.

Desirable - an assessor's qualification, ie, A1, TAQA L3, CAVA

We run regular meet ups throughout the year to review our training courses to ensure quality.

Salary:- £125 per day

Role overview 

The Volunteer Training Manager’s Assistant role is a challenging but exciting voluntary position for anyone wishing to gain management and leadership skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of the charity and training sector. 

The Training Manager’s Assistant will work together with and assist the Training manager in managing the overall running of the training centre, management of staff and volunteers, general administration and implementation of development plans. 

Duties 
• Recruiting, interviewing and managing volunteers together with the Training Manager’s and Volunteer Co-Ordinator and generally improve the hiring process. 
• Managing members of staff in collaboration with the Training Manager 
• Devising tasks and assigning them to volunteers 
• To raise awareness and attention and receive support 
• Increasing media coverage of the charity on a local and national level 
• Fundraising to secure grants for the continuation of projects in the UK and working together with the Training Manager on funding applications through proofreading, drafting answers and making appropriate modifications. 
• Holding meetings in the office at least once every week with members of staff and volunteers to receive updates on their progress 
• Drafting replies to emails and carrying out general administration 
• Enrolments of learners 
• Carrying out initial assessments of learners 
• Helping with the quality assurance process of the training centre

We want to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Training Manager’s Assistant, who has an interest in our charity’s objectives, strategy and services. We expect the candidate to display a high degree of interest and responsibility to their work. The key requirements of the Volunteer 
Training Manager’s Assistant we are looking for consist of: 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• The ability to work towards designated deadlines. 
• Teamworking skills 

Commitment 

The expected working hours of the Volunteer Training Manager’s Assistant are flexible, with a minimum of three days a week. The role requires a minimum commitment of 3 months, with the possibility of extension. 

In return you will receive training and will work towards gaining the volunteering qualification and the Certificate in Management and Leadership qualification. All out of pocket expenses.
